About

“You know how you feel when you walk into your favorite boutique? The scale is intimate, the vibe is warm, you’re presented with spot-on options, and you know you’re going to walk out with something beautifully made and perfectly you,” says Serio Design principal and creative director Amie Serio. “That’s how I want Serio Design’s clients to feel. I want them to look forward to coming back, certain that their return will yield something special. This level of service explains in large part why entrepreneurs, startups, small-business owners, major brands and agency creative departments turn to Serio Design for brand strategy, identity, logo design and a full range of marketing materials (from trade-show visuals, packaging and presentation assets to front-end website design, social-media graphics and digital flipbooks). Serio Design is also the increasingly rare studio specializing in print, including pieces that recall multimedia collage and even sculpture in their tactile appeal. Amie’s enthusiasm for unexpected materials and innovative techniques makes Serio particularly sought after for event invitations.  Amie launched Burbank-based Serio Design in 2007 after more than a decade in art and design direction. The recipient of a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, she counts among the highlights of her career winning Intel’s global marketing business (while a senior art director at Catapult Marketing), designing packaging for Barbie (during her tenure at Mattel) and presenting to P&G (as a design director at LPK Design). Anchor clients include retail-development company Howard Hughes, Hallmark Channel, educational institutions like Loyola Law School (through the marketing communications firm Lime Twig), and EcoSense Lighting, an Inc. 500 LED manufacturer. Amie takes particular satisfaction from collaborating with entrepreneurs to develop brands like EcoSense and reinvent established ones, which allows her to see a project through from A to Z and demonstrate her facility for coordinating moving parts. Not one to brag about the creative and commercial triumphs Serio Design has afforded its clients, Amie is nonetheless delighted to discuss the unparalleled service and dedication on which she’s built the company’s reputation. “I think of each project as a special child I’m sending out into the world,” Amie confides. “I nurture it until I believe in it 100%, and I won’t let it leave the studio until I’m confident it will succeed by advancing the client’s business objectives. Work is very personal for me.”

Amie works directly with companies and in collaboration with great creative firms:

Kind Words

"As an emerging nonprofit that had never undergone a full-scale rebrand, CLARE needed a strategic thinker who had the patience to get us up-to-speed and keep us on-topic. Amie was that person. She was very service-oriented and made us feel as though our project was a priority, and her attention to our needs shows through in the final product. I am so grateful to have worked with Amie at such a pivotal time in CLARE's development."

-Tamara Pompey, Communications & Grants Manager, CLARE Foundation

"Working with Amie is almost too easy. Her understanding of our needs and what we want to accomplish makes communications with her seamless and streamlined; we view her as a partner in bringing our brand to life. The suggestions she made not only looked fantastic, but they really embodied the spirit of what we wanted. The boost our brand gets from her design is worth its weight in gold."

-Noel True, Principal / Producer, Little Pictures

"Amie was supportive, collaborative and fun to work with. Our packaging is professional, fun and reflects the quality we were looking for The results have been fantastic. Great service level--Thank you Amie!"

-Steve Hilbert, President, Parody Products

"The end result was terrific. The collaborative team effort with Amie responsible for the “packaging and presentation” resulted in renewing our client’s contract, which is a huge win. Communication was always very good and even though we kept coming back for more with little or no notice, Amie was always able to fit us in – well done each time and in a timely manner."

-Todd Star, Partner, Star Retail Advisors
